The National Environment Agency (NEA) of Singapore has issued an official Circular on the Energy Conservation Act (ECA) Amendment, which extends the scope of the Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) and Mandatory Energy Labelling Scheme (MELS) to regulated electrical and electronic goods imported for end-users’ own use. Effective July 1, 2026, the amended regulation requires all imported regulated products to be registered with the NEA, fully comply with applicable MEPS energy efficiency requirements, and display the mandatory energy label.
