The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), together with seven other national government departments, has officially released the 2026 Edition of the RoHS Compliance Management Catalogue for Electrical and Electronic Products and the 2026 Edition of the Hazardous Substance Restriction Exceptions List. The 2026 edition significantly expands the regulatory scope, adding 23 new product categories including smart wearables, audio equipment, network devices and servers to the mandatory restriction and conformity assessment framework. It implements a 10-substance restriction framework, with new requirements taking effect on August 1, 2027, aligning with the national standard GB 26572-2025.
