Vietnam｜2026 Wireless Device Risk Classification Compliance Policy Summary

Vietnam’s Ministry of Information and Communications issued Circular No. 14/2026/TT-BKHCN, launching a full risk-tiered supervision framework for wireless electronic products effective July 1, 2026. Medium-risk products including handheld lithium batteries and short-range wireless devices cancel official state inspections to accelerate customs clearance while retaining basic safety testing requirements. High-risk products such as 4G/5G mobile terminals, base stations and radar systems are subject to strict supervision. All 5G mobile devices must fully comply with the QCVN 134:2024/BTTTT technical standard starting from the effective date. In addition, multi-functional devices equipped with both cellular and Wi-Fi modules need to meet all applicable QCVN regulatory specifications, further standardizing the market access rules for wireless products in Vietnam.
