Japan Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) issued an amendment to Radio Equipment Regulations. The revision expands the scope of license-exempt radio stations, covering Wireless Power Transmission (WPT) and RFID devices working in the 900 MHz band. New specifications on RF emission limits, carrier sense mechanism and electromagnetic exposure limits are formulated to avoid mutual interference. Manufacturers exporting related products need to update corresponding Giteki certification test items.
