Thailand|NBTC Accepts ETSI EN 301 893 for WLAN 5.8GHz Certification
During a recent consultation, Thailand's NBTC Certification Manager verbally confirmed that NBTC will now accept test reports adhering to ETSI EN 301 893 for the 5.8GHz WLAN frequency band. Under the published NBTC TS 1035-2562 standard, acceptable test standards for the 5.725–5.850 GHz range were previously restricted strictly to ETSI EN 302 502, FCC Part 15.247 and FCC Part 15.407, with ETSI EN 301 893 previously excluded. Under the updated implementation policy, effective immediately for SDoC, Class A and Class B certificates issued from August 2026, accepted standards now include ETSI EN 302 502, FCC Part 15.247, FCC Part 15.407 or ETSI EN 301 893. ETSI EN 301 893 reports must be v2.2.1 or newer, as this revision incorporates testing parameters for the 5.725–5.850 GHz band. Note that this update is currently based on verbal confirmation from NBTC officials; a formal written amendment is expected to undergo standard revision procedures taking about one year or longer, though NBTC is already actively processing approvals using ETSI EN 301 893 (v2.2.1+) test reports immediately.
